BOXERS IN NEED!
The following boxers need you. They are currently in local shelters or in
homes that can no longer care for them for whatever reason. LBR has been
asked to help them, but we cannot take them into our program because our
foster homes are full. LBR provides all food, vetting a crate, and basic
essentials like leash and collar, for each foster boxer - please help us help them!
Please note that in most cases, LBR has no other information about these
boxers other than what's listed here.
There are also boxers in shelters that we do not have pictures of. We need all the help we can get at this point. If you are interested in fostering for us, please fill out our foster application by clicking here. |

Other Info: Cesar is a nine month old neutered brindle male with natural ears and a docked tail. He currently weighs 45 pounds and is not deaf. The current owner has bad him for about a month and over the last week or two, he has become very dominant. Jumping at her, he stands and barks very loudly at her. As owner is single, she just don't think she will be able to gain dominance over him. When she is home he has free access inside. He is crated M-F from 6:15am-3:30pm while owner is at work. On weekends, just long enough if she need to run to the store. He immediately jumps on people when they come up to him. He wants to play with other dogs, but he gets too rough and they don't want to play any more. He is housetrained, but on occasion he has had an accident. Owner puts his leash on to get him into his crate, but doesn't fight to go in. He stood calmly during baths and he will not let owner trim his nails. He does not like getting his nails trimmed, pulls away. He goes to the dog park where I live and he uses the bathroom and then just wants to jump all over her. They play tug a war and throw a ball or toy and he gets and comes back for me to to throw again. He is very high energy and likes to play rough. He has not shown any aggression over toys with dogs or people. He is currently fed dry Pedigree dog food.
He does not have any training that I know of. His leash walking is poor. He likes to pull you and likes to curl his leash to play tug a war. Verbal correction is used with him, although if she doesn't walk toward him he will ignore her. He has no reaction when his bowl is taken away, unsure of how he would react to a stranger doing. The only issues the owner knows is the barking, jumping on people, anything left in his reach he will take off with to chew up. He is not current on heartworm prevention. Nothing seems to cause him to behave differently. Cesar does not have any known injuries or illnesses.
